Bambusa Vulgaris

This is my first bamboo that I successfully propagated using branch and culm cuttings. I originally thought it to be Oldhaami but was later corrected. Winter 04/05 also proved this as it had almost complete die back of all growth at my residence in Jacksonville, FL.

The above pictures show the bamboo as new rooted branch cutting in the summer of 2003.

These pictures show it's growth and development in my new backyard from July to August. There were about 3 sets of new culms that emerged over the course of 6 months with the last set being about 5 feet tall and about 1/2" diameter. Freezing temps managed to completely kill all new and existing growth.
