Also known as Golden Hawaiian Bamboo, this was
a new addition Summer 2003. I never expected such phenominal gains
from this one early on. This is a real beautiful bamboo with bright
yellow culms and green striping. Follow the pics as this bamboo
matures from a scraggily looking plant to a thing of beauty and
awe.

Pics of the Vitatta July 2004. The new shoot
that has appeared looks to be healthy and quite large compared
to last years growth.

Pics of the Vitatta March 2006. The new shoots
it produced right before the winter received some tip burn but
still reached up to the roof. The diameter of the culms were also
nearly twice as large as the previous culms produced.

April and May 2006. Here the branching and leafs are really
starting to form, really filling out the plant and making it
look less skeleton like in appearance.

End of July, 2006 new shoots have probablt reached
their max height. My guess is around 20 feet. This really gives
one a feel for how fast boo grows.
