Bambusa pervariabilis viridistriata

Bambusa pervariabilis viridistriata, also known as Sunburst bamboo, is very similar to Bambusa eutuldoides viridi vitatta but with much larger culms. Culms will grow to a height of about 45 feet and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. A fast growing tight clumper that produces cream colored culms with broad green stripes that fades to bright yellow with green stripes. It's difficulty to propagate make it a bit more expensive than Asian Lemon, but if you have room for large, cold tolerant tropical clumpers than this is a must have! Culms are often trimmed of lower branching to reveal a striking appearance. Cold tolerant to about 15 degrees F.
