Bambusa sinospinosa, also known as Chinese Thorny bamboo, is a thick walled, fast growing tropical clumper. This tropical bamboo earned it's nickname based on the interlaced branching being covered in spiny thorns and small leaves. Not considered by most to be a very onrnamental bamboo, however, if you desire a impenetrable hedge then this on e is for you. Culms are said to grow to a height of 70 feet and 5 inches in diameter. Since ours are just one year divisions that we got from Richard Waldron's collection in St. Augustine we don't have any stock available or any other local data. A cold hardy clumper, withstanding temperatures down to 20 degrees F.
