This is some that I have propagated from both
culm and branch node cuttings in Spring 2003, Spring 2004 and
Fall 2004 after the hurricanes came thrrough. My guess is that
I have about a 50 to 65% success rate. Based on research I it
is most likely Bambusa Vulgaris, but for now we can still label
it "Unknown 1". All the following pics are of the "mother"
plant that I get my cuttings from. There was not a lot to this
grove when I first discovered it, and it actually appeared to
either be recovering or dieing. Hence I decide to use it for my
first test subject. I have only seen it produce 4 culms total
over the last 2 years, with the 2 in 2004 topped by Hurricane
Charlie.
