Hybrid Poplar Tree Pictures

As stated before, hybrid poplar trees are among some of the fasterst growing trees on the planet. The following pics will give you some indication of the growth rate of the wonderful trees.

The first picture is of a hybrid poplar after three years that was planted from a 24" rooted cutting. If memory serves me correct this was planted in 1997. Also note that this tree was severly damaged by our dog during the early stages of it's life, hence the double trunk. This particular Imperial Carolina hybrid poplar is planted in Jacksonville, FL and is still standing today.

This next picture is of the same tree one year later. Note how much fuller and robust the tree has become in just one more years growth.

My brother and sister in-law have planted 3 Imperial Carolina hybrid poplar trees in their backyard in 2005. I'm hoping they hav some early pictures of these trees that I can put on here. Either way I know I'll be getting some cuttings from them in the Spring.
