More commonly referred to as the Kentia palm, found only in nature on Lord Howe Island. This is by far one of the most commonly grown indoor palms in the world, being extremely tolerant of neglect, and capable of withstanding very low light conditions, as well as air conditioning! Though cold hardy once mature, they will suffer frostbite at temps less than 27F. Should you grow these outdoors, these will need some protection from full sun until about 5 years old. They are slow growers and will benefit from a regular ferilization using a balanced palm fertilizer and regular watering. |
